Meizu 16Xs could be launched May 23

According to reports, the Meizu 16Xs is currently in the works and Meizu plans to make it the successor of the Meizu 16X which was released last year. The phone recently appeared on TENAA and all specs and features of the phone were revealed. According to the company’s Weibo handle, a new announcement is going to be made on May 23. There is a huge chance the announcement is going to be regarding the release date of the Meizu 16Xs.

Every year, an unofficial Valentine’s Day is celebrated on the 20th and 21st of May in China. This is known as the “520” which is used to express “Love”. As a form of celebration of the occasion, Meizu posted a kind of “Love Letter” a.k.a thanking note for its users and fans on Weibo. In the note, Meizu listed all the achievements and then went on go thank its users for the overwhelming response. Meizu also said that a major announcement is set to take place on May 23 at the end of the Love Letter. According to what different leaks and rumors say, it is expected that the company will announce the release date of the Meizu 16Xs on May 23.

The Meizu 16Xs is expected to come with three cameras on its rear including a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel sensor. The phone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712. In terms of memory, the device will feature 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It also packs a 4000 mAh battery which supports fast charging. The dimensions of the phone are 152 x 74.4 x 8.35 mm and a weight of 162 g.

The phone will come with NFC support as well as other usual connectivity options. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is located on the top of the device. The phone is expected to come with a price tag of 2000 Yuan (~$289).
