Meizu Note 8 Review – Price, Design, Performance & Full Specs

A lot of smartphones have been released in the month of October 2018. Most of them are announced and released a few days later. Meizu Note 8 is one of them. This is a mid-range smartphone which will remind fans of Samsung Note offerings. Does the Meizu Note 8 have stylus? In which way does it mimic the Samsung smartphones?

Design and Display of Meizu Note 8

Body design for the device is mainly of metal, which gives impression that this smartphone may be expensive. Dimensions are 75.5 x 153.6 x 7.9 mm. Further, it weighs 168 grams, battery load included. There are black, blue, red, and violet colors in this device.

Meizu Note 8 comes in 6 inches screen. But the display type is FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touch screen. The pixel resolution is 1080 x 2160 of 16 million screen colors. Pixel density is 402 ppi, screen to body ratio is 80.37 percent, and aspect ratio is 18:9. It is multi-touch capable, up to 10 fingers, and other features include scratch resistance, and 2.5D curved glass screen. The device is not water resistant, and it does not have a secondary display.

Camera Features

In the camera department, there is dual 12 MP plus 5 MP shooters which produce moderate quality images. The video performance is 2160p@30fps of FHD recording. These cameras come with dual LED flash and f/1.9, and f/2.4 apertures.

Other features include auto focus, continuous shooting, digital zoom, exposure compensation, face detection, geo-tagging, HDR, panorama, scene mode, self-timer, etc. however, the advanced features are Sony IMX362 Exmor RS, and Samsung S5K2L7 (ISOCELL). The cameras are armed with artificial intelligence.

Front camera also doubles as selfie camera and it comes in 8 MP with flash attribute. This camera has 4-element lens and f/2.0. In this way, other features follow.

Hardware and Software of Meizu Note 8

Android 8.1 Oreo runs on Meizu Note 8 as the operating system. The user interface is FlyMe. Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 (Other reviews claim 710)SoC chipset lives inside the device. However, we know that the process technology is 14nm. In addition, Octa-core 1.8 GHz CPU 8-Cores CPU, and Qualcomm Adreno 506 2-Cores GPU also work to make a smooth operation possible for the smartphone. The architecture is 64-bit.

Storage/Sensors

Memory is 4GB of RAM, which cannot be increased. But the internal storage is 64GB. This can be increased up to 256GB with the use of a microSD card. Sensors found on the Meizu Note 8 are fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, compass, gyroscope, and hall.

Network and Connectivity

Things run smoothly with 2G (GSM), 3G (WCDMA, HSDPA), and 4G (LTE). This shows how versatile the smartphone is when it comes to network connectivity. In view of this, two SIM card slots have been provided for smooth working of things, giving the user opportunity to get the best from several carriers.

Other connectivity components are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, hotspot, USB Type-C, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, HDMI, and 3.5mm audio jack. There is no provision for NFC or for infrared port.

Battery Life

Powering the device is a 3600 mAh Li-Po battery that is not removable. There is no wireless charging technology here, but there is fast charging technology which enables users to fully charge their device from zero to 100 percent in no time.

Price and Availability

Price of Meizu Note 8 starts from $189 to about $200 USD. Find the mobile smartphone in online and offline stores because now it is available for purchase. Lastly, the device has no stylus.
