The rumor about Microsoft’s Surface phone dates back to 2012, and now it appears it may become a reality. This is the smartphone that rumors from last year said it could have a built-in projector. It could also arrive in two variants, and probably, the name would be Surface Mobile.
New leaks show that the smartphone ideas are still very much alive. What do these leaks show?
It May Improve Windows 10 Performance
As we all know, Windows 10 is messy and its little cousins, the iOS and Android are doing just fine. What will Microsoft Surface phone do to help Windows 10 break out of the shadows it has since been in? One great disadvantage of using a Microsoft phone is that you will have limits to the apps available.
I can see that some app makers recently removed their apps from Microsoft Windows Playstore. This is the greatest undoing ever to Windows.
What the leaks are revealing shows that the device will come with a flagship price, but we will also like it to be a king among kings. Samsung, Apple, Lenovo, are all doing much when it comes to delivering top-model brands of smartphones. Microsoft should do even better than that.

The leaks tell us a bit about the screen and body makeup of Microsoft Surface smartphone. It appears the company is looking at a 5.5-inch QHD screen, of clear black AMOLED design. In addition, the body of the smartphone will be predominantly metal. Its resolution could be 1440 x 2560 as revealed in a 2015 leak information. Things may however change since we are in 2024.
Since it is too soon to believe in any specifications of the Microsoft Surface smartphone, we actually believe that specs may not be far off from what we have here, considering all the information at hand at the present time. The metal unibody is a fact that we think will come true since Microsoft is planning to break away from the culture that it has since been identified with.
Leaks About The Camera
The camera features of Microsoft Surface handset should be something that can wow people. A leak revealed that the main camera is coming as a 21 MP shooter at the rear and another one for selfies at 8 MP. Since that was a 2015 estimate, it may not be so anymore as we look forward to 2019.
Leaks About Surface Phone Battery
We don’t have a full picture here, but considering what the smartphone will power, as in the processors, the software, the apps and all, it will need a powerful battery. We also learned that it will be able to handle fast charging technology and wireless charging.
The charging specs are rumored to be Quick Charge 4.0. This will be twenty times faster than the current Quick Charge 3.0. This is the one we see in many flagship smartphones these days.
Leaks On Performance
We see Snapdragon 835 at work backed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB ROM. These were the stuff for 2017. In 2018, the story is different and fans should expect more in this department. There have been reports about Microsoft using Intel chips on the smartphone so that it may have common stuff with PCs. We cannot be sure of these information.
When Will Surface Smartphone Be Available?
We don’t know for sure. However, in the month of October, 2018 a new Andromedia information showed that works on Microsoft Surface phone is not dead yet. The information also revealed that this device may be a foldable one.
