Motorola has announced five new smartphones in its G and E budget lines. It concerns the G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play and the E5 and E5 Plus. The G6 and G6 Plus both have two cameras at the back.
The five new Moto models have Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and run Android 8.0 Oreo. The most comprehensive smartphone is the Moto G6 Plus, which with its 5.9 “screen is slightly larger than the regular G6 The G6 and G6 Plus both have an aspect ratio of 18 – 9 and a slightly curved back of glass; G6 Play, E5 and E5 Plus is plastic.
The Moto G6 and the G6 Plus are also the only models of the new series that have USB-C, with support for fast charging. Motorola makes the G6 with 3GB ram and 32GB storage available, but there are also variants with 4GB ram and 64GB storage capacity. The Moto G6 Plus is not only bigger than the G6 but also has a more powerful processor, and there is a version with 6GB ram. The front camera offers the possibility to log in after a face scan. The fingerprint scanner is located on both front-facing devices and two cameras on the back.
The Moto G6 Play has lesser specifications than the G6 and G6 Plus regarding screen resolution, which is 1440×720 pixels instead of 2160×1080 pixels, and the processor, which is the Snapdragon 427 instead of the 450 or 630. Also, there is a single camera at the back, and the front camera has no 8 megapixel – but a 5-megapixel resolution. There is a fingerprint scanner, and there is support for fast charging via the micro-USB connection.
Of the two E5 budget devices, the Plus variant is particularly interesting. It has a generous battery capacity of 5000mAh and a large screen with an image diagonal of 6 inches. There is also 3GB ram as opposed to the 2GB at the E5 and the storage capacity is 32GB instead of 16GB. The resolution is 1440×720 pixels, as with the E5 with 5.7 “screen.
The Moto G6 Plus comes in May in silver and blue. The other models appear in June, the G6 Plus in blue and gray, the G6 Play in blue and gold and the E5 and E5 Plus in gray and gold.
Update, Friday 09.44 – Motorola has an adjustment in the colors passed, initially was in the message that the devices in the gold and gray would come true.
