Motorola unveils moto g 5G Plus – the mid-range smartphone compatible with 5G

A device that allows you to take advantage of new technologies in terms of connectivity, 5G, at an affordable price, so as to affect as much users as possible- it is the moto g 5G Plus, the new medium-high-end device presented by Motorola.

The US company, which is part of Lenovo, after having unveiled the Edge models (the only other 5G-enabled Motorola devices), has therefore focused on the release of a device in a price range – between 300 and 400 euros – in which Motorola has been committed to for some time. All this without renouncing the qualities capable of giving the user a pleasant experience while using the device.

Screen and 5G

Moto g 5G Plus, in fact, despite being in the middle range, offers very interesting features, starting from compatibility with 5G- the smartphone, in the cities where technology is already present, will therefore guarantee better connectivity, with a greater width of reduced bandwidth and latency times. Where there is no 5G, however, the device will obviously take advantage of the 4G connection.

The moto g 5G plus screen is also worth a break. The display, in fact, is the largest ever as regards the family of moto g- it is a 6.7-inch CinemaVision Full HD +, with a 21- 9 ratio, certified for HDR10, which therefore allows viewing of the favorite content, ensuring better brightness and contrast. Another interesting aspect of the display is the refresh rate at 90Hz- in this way surfing the web, opening the apps and images – ensures Motorola – will be fluid.

Dual front camera

The news, however, are not over and just shift your attention to the photographic sector to notice it. For the first time, in fact, Motorola presents a dual front camera (the main 16 megapixels) for selfies, with an ultra-wide sensor that allows you to take excellent group photos, without therefore the need to use the now-famous stick for selfies.

On the back, however, there are 4 sensors and the main one is 48-megapixel f / 1.8. The gem, however, is represented by the 5MP f / 2.2 Macro lens, which will allow you to immortalize the subjects of your shots – fruit, flowers – approaching up to 5 times, as long as you are at least at a distance of 2 cm- in this way it will be possible to capture as many details as possible without losing quality.

Two days of autonomy

To guarantee these features, moto g 5G Plus will be able to count on a large battery, 5000 mAh, which according to the manufacturer will guarantee an autonomy of two days without recharging. Charging that can still be done quickly, thanks to the 20W TurboPower charger. Moto g 5G Plus also promises to keep up with users, increasingly multitasking and with numerous applications open simultaneously, thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon ™ 765 5G processor.

On the software side, however, Motorola intends to guarantee the best possible experience thanks to a stock version of Android 10- not weighing down the operating system, Motorola will thus be able to improve the battery and the fluidity of the device.

Finally, personalization of the device will be possible with My UX, a way to modify and use the smartphone according to your preferences and settings. In this regard, it is worth mentioning the power button on the right which, in addition to housing the fingerprint sensor, also functions as a shortcut key- with a double tap you can, in fact, call up an app or function. Another interesting novelty is the possibility of contactless payment because moto g 5G Plus will be equipped with an NFC sensor. Unlike many other devices, Motorola also continues to provide the audio jack input, so that it can also connect traditional wired earphones.

For less than 400 euros

So we conclude with price and availability- moto g 5G Plus will be on sale from Wednesday 8 July for 399 euros. It will come in two colors- blue and lilac. Both can count on 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of memory expandable up to 1Tb with MicroSD.

Delayed launch

The launch of this device in the height of summer may seem strange to many, but it is part of a very specific strategy of Motorola, as explained – exclusively to Corriere – by Carlo Barlocco, Executive Director Mobile Business Group Europe Expansion, who joined Lenovo towards the end of summer 2019, with the aim of repositioning the Motorola brand in Europe- « Due to the Coronavirus and the lockdown, we preferred to postpone the launch of the products, as the Edge presentation in May also shows. This now allows us to be on the market with non-old devices, unlike those who unveiled them in February-March. Above all, we also had time to refresh these devices, supplying them with the latest technologies ». The pandemic, therefore, could have ruined Motorola’s plans, for example with the cancellation of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona – one of the most important fairs for telephony -, but in reality it simply changed them, delaying the release for a few months devices that in the company’s intentions will help to reposition the brand in Europe.
