MWC 2024, Nokia and Huawei stars – events scheduled for February 24th

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 will certainly be a big party, full of extraordinary news. The main companies operating in the mobile technology sector such as Huawei, Oppo, LG, along with many other “giants”, have already announced some events at the super fair that will be held in the wonderful setting of Barcelona.

In the last hours, HMD Global, a Finnish company that develops mobile devices under the “Nokia” brand, has also been added, which has begun to spread the first calls. The company is ready to host an event on February 24th at 4:00 pm and everything suggests that it is the highly anticipated Nokia 9 PureView smartphone. However, it could also be the occasion for other announcements, such as the one concerning the Nokia 1 Plus and the Nokia 8.1 Plus. However, the Nokia 9 PureView will be the true flagship device of HMD Global, equipped with a camera with penta optics.

In the invitation we read “See you in Barcelona”- some details of the event emerged, with a picture of the city as a background. The Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas, recently confirmed the company’s presence at the upcoming MWC via a tweet, and the invitation has further strengthened it.

Even Huawei had previously confirmed that the company was working on a folding 5G smartphone and, shortly thereafter, announced that it would be launched right at Mobile World Congress 2019. The Chinese smartphone maker has now shared a press invitation on Twitter for an event scheduled for February 24, 2019, in Barcelona (the same date Nokia, ed), just a day before the start of MWC 2019, and four days after the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. The invitation image shows what seems to be a strong point of the folding smartphone, giving us a slight hint on its design.

The press invitation, shared by Twitter’s official Huawei Mobile handset, shows the silhouette of the foldable smartphone hinge and confirms the launch for the event of 24 February 2019 in Barcelona, as already announced at the beginning of this month. The Shenzhen home’s folding smartphone is expected to come with a HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor and a Balong 5000 modem.
