Nokia 9 PureView – confirmed the absence of the new Snapdragon 855

Originally scheduled for the end of 2018, the new top-of-the-range Nokia 9 PureView was postponed to the first quarter of 2019 due to some problems with the software that will have to manage the 5 rear cameras. In fact, the future flagship of Nokia will be in all respects a smartphone of 2018 and, as such, will not be able to count on the new Snapdragon 855 presented by Qualcomm a few days ago.

As confirmed by some metadata present in the OTA updates released by HMD Global, the new Nokia 9 PureView will arrive on the market with the Snapdragon 845, the SoC mounted by almost all the top Android range arrived on the market during 2018. The absence of the Snapdragon 855 could turn the nose of some enthusiast but, in terms of real performance, the differences will be minimal.

The real strength of the new Nokia 9 PureView will be the versatility in the photographic field guaranteed by the system of five rear cameras, the main element of the new top of the range technical card coming in early 2019. The presence of the Snapdragon 845 in place of Snapdragon 855 could also guarantee a slightly lower price, a factor that could facilitate the spread of the new smartphone.

Further details on the Nokia 9 PureView project, which could be presented as early as January, should emerge in the coming weeks. Continue to follow us to learn more.
