Nokia 9 PureView will be launched on February 24th – only the officiality is missing

The official status has not yet been given, but it seems now certain that the event scheduled for February 24 will finally be an opportunity for Nokia to present its highly anticipated top of the range.

After a series of delays, the Finnish company, controlled by the giant HMD Global, is now ready to reveal to the world the Nokia 9 PureView– as revealed by a company executive, the phone will be presented on February 24 during the Mobile World Congress 2019 to be held in the beautiful setting of Barcelona.

The company has not yet specified the characteristics of the event, but all the rumors indicate that the protagonist of the day will be just the long-awaited Nokia 9 PureView smartphone. According to some “reports”, the company could exploit the event also to formalize the launch of Nokia 6 (2019), although some industry experts are convinced that the Finnish company will announce this phone a little earlier.

Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, has confirmed on Twitter that the company’s MWC event is scheduled for February 24th and has invited fans to “tune in”.

Considering his tweet, it is very likely that the company will broadcast the event live on the web. The Nokia 9 PureView has been affected by a lot of rumors in recent weeks. According to the “leak”, the highlight of the phone should be the five-camera configuration that we will find on the back, which is said to be powered by a Zeiss solution and a Light technology.

Other smartphone specifications will include a 5.99-inch QHD PureDisplay panel with HDR10 support and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the display. The Nokia 9 PureView will also be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in memory. On the software front, the phone will be based on the Android One platform and will most likely work with Android 9 Pie as an operating system.

Nokia 9 PureView should be the first Nokia phone with PureView brand from HMD Global. The company had acquired PureView from Microsoft in 2024, but until now has not yet proceeded to launch a device with this brand.
