Nokia releases new Nokia 9 PureView update which features April Security patch and other improvments

Nokia has released a new software update for Nokia 9 Pureview and it comes with so many new improvements. The Android 9 Pie based update which is called build v4.22c also comes with the April security patch. According to the official changelog, the aim of the new update is to improve system stability, bring UI improvements, and enhance security.

The size of the software update is about 250.4 MB and it bears an increment in the version of the firmware. There are some additional optimizations that have been reported by users which resulted in camera app speed improvements. The in-display fingerprint sensor of the Nokia 9 now responds faster after the update. Face Unlock is also optimized and now unlocks the phone much faster. The update also comes with many other changes including better skin tones, accurate screen colors, improved image processing while snapping photos using native camera app.

The OTA update is rolling out for Nokia 9 Pureview globally. We recommend that you charge your device at least 60% before you begin the update process. Also, try connecting to a Wi-Fi network to avoid additional data charges.

The device has been launched in China for 5499 Yuan (~$820) and will soon be launched in India. The phone comes with five cameras on its rear and they are all 12MP f/1.8 Zeiss optics sensors. All five cameras are used in taking photos and the result is called a single detail-rich image. Taking photos using multiple cameras help the phone to capture more light and as a result, produces better night photography.

The phone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SDM845, 64-Bit Processor and Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU. Its display is a 5.9-inch P-OLED QHD+ display and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone also packs a 3320 mAh battery which features Quick Charge 18W fast charging support which is enough to endure a full day of rigorous phone usage.
