Notched Motorola makes US debut

Popular smartphone brand and company Motorola has unveiled that it is ready to start selling its latest Android phone The Motorola One in the US. The announcement was first made at the tail end of August, The middle-range handset is a part of Google’s Android One initiate and comes with a bloat-free Android UI with the promise of at least two years of swift software updates after lunch.

The phone which comes with a 5.9 display has a distinctive notch at the top of the screen where it houses the sensors, the speakers and front-facing rear camera (much akin to that of the iPhone X, XS, and XR). The notched design is totally different in contrast with other modern Motorola phones sold previously in the US which feature less elaborate designs. The 5.9 screen which is beautifully accentuated with the emboldening notch at the top is somewhat lackadaisical in pixel density as it has only 720 x 1520 pixel and a 287 PPI (pixels per inch) density. For a mid-range handset in 2024 more is expected of screen sharpness and it means that content on the screen may not look as sharp as you’d want.

Away from external feature and over to what is inside, the Motorola One does pretty well as it features an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor alongside a 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage space and a 3000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities, The New Motorola one is also splash resistant and offers a standard fingerprint scanner that works just great and responsive. It spots a dual rear camera of 13MP and 2MP pixels respectively and an 8 MP front-facing camera for good quality selfies and recordings.

The new Motorola one currently runs stock Android 8.1 Oreo but it said to be updated to the latest Android 9 pie before the end of the years. The phone is currently going for $399.99 on Best buy which is the exclusive seller of the phone in the US.
