OnePlus 5 and 5T – the update to Android Pie 9.0 is available

Christmas present for all owners of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T that, in these hours, begin to receive, officially, the stable version of Oxygen OS 9.0 that brings with it Android Pie 9.0, the latest version of the mobile operating system of Google. The update is being distributed via OTA and should arrive on all active phones within a few hours or, at most, a few days.

It is possible to manually check the availability of the update to Android Pie 9.0 for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T by going to the phone settings and, in particular, in the special section dedicated to system updates. As always, it is advisable to download the update package using a Wi-Fi network.

The new update brings all the news of Android Pie 9.0 and a new UI, introduces the new navigation gesture (on the 5T), the security patches updated to December, the Google Lens mode for the camera and a long series of optimizations and improvements for the operating system.

Recall that Android Pie 9.0 is already available for OnePlus 6 and, of course, for the very latest OnePlus 6T. The update for OnePlus 5 and 5T arrives on time, confirming the company’s commitment to keeping its smartphones up-to-date. For further details and feedback on the update, you can consult the official OnePlus forum here.
