OnePlus 7 Pro appears again and could be the company’s first 5G phone

It’s no secret that OnePlus is working on a 5G phone, the company has confirmed that even in MWC. However, we have very little information besides the Snapdragon 855 chipset and the X50 modem, which offer 5G features. Two pictures of the alleged OnePlus 5G phone have now appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo, revealing some key specifications and curved screen design with minimal frames.

OnePlus 7 Pro

The source calls the OnePlus 7 Pro phone and has the model name GM1915. The legend of one of the images reveals that the device comes with a Super Optic screen of 6.67 “, Snapdragon 855 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The cameras have sensors of 48MP, 16MP, and 8MP.

The phone is running Android 9 with a build number of 9.5.1 GM31CB. Another publication shows an image reads OnePlus 6T, which raises questions about the legitimacy of the post, but may also be just unfinished software.

Last month, a OnePlus phone with the same GM1915 model number and 9.5.1 software passed the Bluetooth certification, which confirms its support for Bluetooth 5.0.

Most interestingly, the model number of the new phone deviates from the previous OnePlus numbering strategy, which always began with the letter “A” dating back to OnePlus One. Re-numbering this model might suggest that the device will start a new line.

Earlier, the company confirmed that its first 5G phone would do just that.
