On Wednesday, October 14, at 4 pm, OnePlus will present its new top of the range. This is the OnePlus 8T 5G. The right successor to the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro on the market. However, during the online event, OnePlus Nord will also be featured and we can even have a Nord Lite. All models mentioned are 5G equipment.

Unlike OnePlus 8, the new model receives a flat-screen, instead of a rounded one. Thus, OnePlus may have been inspired by Samsung, which also made the Galaxy Note 20 available with a flat-screen and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, which is still expected today, will also have a flat panel.
The 6.55-inch size and Full HD + resolution remain the same. However, the refresh rate changes to 120 Hertz, instead of 90Hz. So this higher refresh rate is a great way to watch movies or play games. Last year, OnePlus was the first manufacturer to implement a 90 Hz panel on the 7 Pro.
Meanwhile, the new OnePlus smartphone will have a screen with a hole located in the upper left corner. Presumably, it is a 32-megapixel image sensor. However, the camera system at the rear should also undergo some changes. There is talk of a system of quadruple chambers. The main camera is a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera. In addition, we have another ultra-wide-angle of 16. Then the highlight goes to a macro camera of 5 and another one of depth with 2.
The quadruple camera is placed in the upper left corner, as we have seen in many top models in recent times.
An LED flash also stands out. Unlike the front, the rear is rounded.
The first photo of the front of the OnePlus 8T appeared online in August. Dutch designer Jermaine Smit, also known as Concept Creator, made a video in collaboration with LetsGoDigital in which the new model is shown.
Supposedly, the OnePlus 8T 5G is powered by the extremely powerful Snapdragon 865+. However, several variants are available. Probably 8 GB of RAM / 128 GB of ROM and 12 GB of RAM/256 GB of ROM. Immediately after launch, the new smartphone runs the new Android 11 operating system, on which is OxygenOS 11.
The battery capacity is higher.
The OnePlus seems to equip its new model T with a battery of 4,500 mAh – 200mAh more than the OnePlus 8. In addition, the 8T supports the extra fast charging technology.
Wired charging is probably compatible with a maximum charging power of not less than 65 Watt – comparable to the Oppo Find X2 (Pro). This is a significant update compared to the 30W fast charging technology that can be found on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Wireless charging should only be present on the OnePlus 8 Pro model.
At the bottom is the USB-C port. The SIM card slot and a speaker are also here. The microphone is placed at the top. However, there is also an elongated button on the left side and two buttons on the right side.
In terms of price and availability, the official launch will be on October 14, 2020. The launch event takes place digitally.
The OnePlus 8 was priced at 700 Euros (8GB/128GB), while the Pro variant is sold for 900 (8GB/128GB). The OnePlus 8T will probably cost around 740 Euros (8GB/128GB). The version with 12GB/256GB of memory costs an extra 100 Euros.
