The Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition is the more advanced version of the Oppo R15 launched by Oppo today. The Dream Mirror Edition looks exactly like the Oppo R15 with a little internal improvements.
Unlike the R15, the Dream Mirror Edition houses a more powerful Snapdragon chip from Qualcomm. In this regard, Oppo is giving their users a chance to choose from either the Mediatek powered R15 or the Qualcomm powered R15 Dream Mirror Edition. Without further ado, meet the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition.
Design
The R15 Dream Mirror Edition looks exactly like the Oppo R15, no difference in terms of design here. Sporting the same metal body that reflects light beautifully. The body looks so simple and classy as well, with the only highlight at the rear being the dual shooters at the top left corner.
There’s a dual-tone dual-LED flash right beside the dual shooters and ready to take over the night. It sports a rear fingerprint scanner as well and measures 7.5 mm in thickness. That’s just 0.1mm thicker than the R15. Overall, it weighs the same 175g and available in White, Red and Purple colors as well.
Display
So it’s absolutely definite we will be seeing more of the top-notch display throughout the year. But here on the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition, the top-notch is very minimal, housing just the selfie camera, ambient light sensor and speaker grille. However, the bottom bezel is still visible a little bit unlike what we saw on the iPhone X.
Nonetheless, the 6.28-inch bezel-less AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is beautiful to look at. Boasting of 2280 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 402 pixel per inch density displaying immersive visuals. The bezel-less screen stretches up to an 84% screen to body ratio, which is one of the highest in the world.
Hardware and Software
Working underneath is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 MSM8976 Plus with an Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-cores of processor on the OPPO R15 Dream Mirror Edition clocks at 2.2GHz and has a 16nm process technology. Controlling graphics is the Qualcomm Adreno 512 graphics processor.
In terms of RAM and internal storage, there’s no major difference here. It still ships with the usual 6GB of RAM space with a memory speed of 1.866GHz. While 128GB storage is also available and upgradeable up to 256GB using a memory card. The R15 Dream Mirror Edition comes running on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.0 skin.
Camera
The rear cameras on the Dream Mirror Edition has been improved, the dual 16MP + 20MP shooters has f/1.7 and f/2.0 aperture respectively. The cameras should capture 4K resolution images and 4K videos as well. Record videos of 2160, 1080 and 720 pixels at 30, 60 and 120 frames per second respectively. Take photographs with 4608 x 3456 pixels in dimension, while the 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture is perfect for selfies.
Battery
Powering the Oppo R15 Dream Mirror Edition is a 3400mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 1.4 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
