The QMobile S15 has officially been launched in Pakistan as a budget killer that offers great value money. According to QMobile, the phone focuses on the Pakistani market and perfect for those on a budget and need great value.
With 3GB of RAM, 16GB storage and 3000mAh battery, all going for a giveaway price. The S15 might be perfect for those that need great value for little money, but is the smartphone worth it? Lets find out.
Design
A combination of Metal and Plastic here, it looks so plain from behind, with QMobile logo claiming its territory at the middle. The dual antenna lines also adds to the beauty of the device no doubt and glows when in contact with light. I love the symmetrical aesthetics going on at the top middle though.
The rear camera comes first and sits pretty on top, a LED flash follows suit, then the fingerprint scanner rounds up the vertical train. Turning over to the sides, you can see the rear camera kinda popped out a bit from the body. It measures 8mm in thickness, making it easy to hold and operate. Overall, it weighs 162g and available in Black and Gols colors only.
Display
Wasn’t expecting a bezel-less display here, it dishes out a 16:9 aspect ratio. Three navigation buttons are present on the bottom bezel, while the top bezel houses the selfie camera, ambient light sensor and speaker grille. Surprisingly, the screen stretches up to 72.79% screen to body ratio, which is impressive for a budget smartphone.
The screen doesn’t display like a budget smartphone, the 5.2-inch FHD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is crystal clear. Boasting of 1920 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 282 pixel per inch, dishing out impressive visuals.
Hardware and Software
Administrating the work underneath is a MediaTek MT6737 chip, a 64-bit CPU architecture and Quad-core processor. The 4-cores on the QMobile S15 reaches a clock speed of 1.25GHz and has a 28nm process technology for a smooth ride. In charge of graphics is the ARM Mali-T720 MP1 graphics processor that clocks at 600MHz.
3GB RAM is more than enough for smooth multitasking and on normal usage. The RAM space reaches a speed of 640MHz as well for fast app launching. In the storage department, 16GB is available and ready to accommodate all your apps and files. You can always upgrade up to 64GB with a memory card if you need more space.
Camera
At the back, the 8MP rear camera isn’t like the typical 8MP camera, it has a f/2.2 aperture lens and captures 4K resolution images. The camera is impressive to be honest, taking photos with 4163 x 3122 pixels in dimension with ease. You can record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second and take cute photos with the 5MP selfie camera.
Battery
Powering the QMobile S15 is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
