Report – Huawei Mate 40 Pro will use 3D face recognition to authenticate payments

Huawei has become the largest smartphone maker in the world after beating Samsung to the top of the list and now, the Chinese tech giant is preparing to release its next-generation Mate-series flagship smartphones. As we move closer to the date, we are sure to see different leaks on the devices.

According to the latest report, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro will feature support for 3D face recognition technology that will be used to authenticate digital payments. Huawei will position the sensors to enable this feature beneath the punch-hole cutout on the display.

You should not, however, is that this is not the first time Huawei will utilize this feature. Previous Mate-series flagship smartphones that have been released over the past two years have had this feature. This includes phones like the Mate 20 and Mate 30 series smartphones and as such, the Huawei Mate 40 series will not be the first to have this feature although, it may feature some improvements.

Other leaks have also revealed that the Huawei Mate 40 will come with a display that features a90Hz refresh rate and a 2640 x 1200 pixels resolution. It will also be powered by the next-generation Kirin chipset which could be manufactured using the 5nm process by TSMC.

One thing we have come to love about the Mate series smartphones is the outrageous camera features they have features and we expect the upcoming Mate 40 series to offer the same. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for the official announcement to know more features the phones will come with.

For now, we do not know when exactly the company plans to launch the flagship lineup. However, we expect Huawei to launch the Huawei Mate 40 series between September and October later this year.
