Samsung has built quite a reputation for the huge plethora of phones it has released. Samsung has launched smartphones in every price category. Samsung has been making moves to launch more affordable 5G smartphones as the technology continues to gain popularity around the world. This has resulted in them launching phones like the Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G but it doesn’t seem like they are slowing down any time soon. Last month, we started to get leaks about the Galaxy A42 5G and now the device has been spotted on China’s 3C certification bureau.
When Samsung launches the Galaxy A42 5G, it is expected to be the cheapest 5G phone from Samsung yet. According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung plans to launch the phone in 2024. It has been revealed that the phone will come with 128GB of internal storage in three color variants including Gray, Black, and White.
According to the 3C listing of the phone spotted by 91Mobiles, the Galaxy A42 5G whose model number is EB-BA426ABY will come with a 4,860 mAh (rated capacity) battery. What this means is that the typical value will be 5,000 mAh and the company will call it 5,000 mAh, which is still less than the battery featured in the forthcoming Galaxy M31s.
It has also been revealed that the device will feature both 4G and 5G (SM-A426B ) variants. Since the device has gotten its certification well before the scheduled 2021 launch date, there is a chance we might get to see the 4G variant earlier.
