Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 has been launched by Samsung as an update to the Galaxy J7 Prime smartphone. This is coming weeks after their flagship, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus were unveiled.
The flagships might be too expensive for the average individual, hence the launching of the Galaxy J7 Prime 2. Without further ado, lets see what the device have to offer.

Design
The back is a little too boring just most Samsung midrange smartphones, it looks much bigger in photographs than it actually is. The only visible features at the rear is the rear camera and LED flash, which are in their usual position.
Two antenna lines are also at the rear adding to the beauty of the device. Since there’s no fingerprint scanner at the rear, i’m thinking the device isn’t bezel-less yet. The J7 Prime 2 measures 8mm in thickness and weighs 170g overall. The device is available in Gold, Black and Rose-Gold colors.
Display
It’s obvious Samsung isn’t ready to bring the bezel-less trend to the J series like they did with the A8 smartphone. Nonetheless, it has no visible narrow bezels, while the home button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner sits at the bottom bezel. The top bezel on the other hand houses the speaker grille, selfie camera and sensors.
The 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is better than the ones on most midrange smartphones. Boasting of 1080 x 1920 pixels in resolution, and an impressive 401 pixel per inch density bringing out the details on the screen. The screen could only stretch up to 73.50% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the Exynos 7 chip from Samsung with octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-cores of could only reach a speed of 1.8GHz and has a 14nm process technology. The ARM Mali-T830 MP2 graphics processor is in charge of graphics and comes with 2-Cores.
For multitasking, the 3GB RAM space has a memory speed of 933MHz for a smooth ride through heavy apps. 32GB storage space is available as well, for storing files and apps, you upgrade up to 256GB with a memory card. The Galaxy J7 Prime 2 runs smoothly on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
You guessed that right, it has a 13MP rear camera just like most Samsung midrange smartphone. But the camera has a f/1.9 aperture, comes with a dual-LED flash and other features. With the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 you can capture photographs with 4160 x 3120 pixels in dimension record FHD videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. The 13MP selfie camera has f/1.9 aperture as well, for taking quality selfies.
Battery
Powering the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 is a 3300mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, it might take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
