Samsung has finally made their long awaiting smartphone official which is the Samsung Galaxy S10. You can refer the phone as a 2019 latest device from the Tech giant Samsung as the phone was introduced with a beautiful body design in a unique way. We will be comparing the Samsung Galaxy S10 with Apple 2018 flagship phone which is the iPhone XS to see when one has an upper hand both on the design, camera, and performance.

iPhone XS VS Samsung Galaxy S10- Design Comparison

On the body, the iPhone XS is blessed with a smooth panel and a classic looking body that feature a notch up front. The handset is both dust and water resistant and it’s available in multiple colors that include Gold, Silver, and Space Grey colors. It measures 7.7 mm in thickness and weighs 177 gram. The Samsung Galaxy S10 did not come with a notch but parades the new trending which is an onscreen hole that gives way to bigger screen size.
The phone is also both dust and water resistant and it’s shipped in amazing colors that include Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Green, and Prism Blue colors. It measures 7.8 mm in thickness and weighs 157 gram.

The iPhone XS has a screen display size of 5.8 inches under OLED 3D Touch Touchscreen with a resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels and 463 PPI density, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a screen size of 6.1 inches under Dynamic AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen with a resolution of 1440 x 3040 pixels and 551 PPI density. The Galaxy S10 has a screen display protection of Corning Gorilla Glass v6 and it has a higher screen to body ratio. The iPhone XS also has display protection as well. Both phones are capable of HD content viewing and they will offer clear visuals to users. The Galaxy S10 has the point here.

On the camera department, the iPhone XS is equipped with combo rear cameras that consist of 12 MP + 12 MP with dual LED flash and a front facing camera of 7 MP for selfies and video calls. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is blessed with triple rear cameras that consist of 12MP + 12MP + 16MP with dual LED flash and a front facing camera of 10 MP for selfies and video calls. The iPhone XS has a brighter aperture with Retina Flash and FaceID, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a FaceID as well and will shoot high videos quality than the later. So the Galaxy S10 has the point.

On the performance, the iPhone XS has Apple A12 Bionic chipset with Hexa Core processor that clocked at a speed of 2.49 GHz and Apple A12 Bionic chipset for graphics, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 9820 chipset with an octa-core processor that clocked at a speed of 2.73 GHz and Mali-G76 MP12 for graphics. The iPhone XS has 4GB RAM with internal memory of 512GN which is not expandable, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a huge 8GB RAM with onboard storage of 128GB which is expandable. The iPhone XS runs on iOS v12.0, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 runs on Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system.

The iPhone XS has a nonremovable battery capacity of 2658 mAh, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 has a nonremovable battery capacity of 3400 mAh. Both phones feature fast and wireless charging technology. The iPhone XS will sell at a price of $999, while the Samsung Galaxy S10 will cost around 930 EUR.

Our Verdict:

Although on the design and even on the camera, the Samsung Galaxy S10 looks more promising than the iPhone XS. Despite the high configuration on the phone, the iPhone XS still score high on Benchmark both on Geekbench and Atutu.  This shows that the iPhone XS will perform better than the Galaxy S10 and the good news is that the phone is more affordable as well.
