A few days ago, TENAA certified a smartphone coded with the initials SM-G8855. In the database of the Chinese body a few days ago, another device popped out, with the code name, SM-G8850, which according to the first rumors could be the lite version of the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Easy to deduce, therefore, that in this case, the reference goes to a possible Samsung Galaxy S9 + Lite. The characteristics, on the other hand, are definitely interesting, in some details the hardware is even higher than the base version of the S9 launched at the end of February.
More concretely we talk about a Samsung Galaxy S9 + Lite that would come with a 6.20-inch diagonal AMOLED display and Full HD + resolution. From the point of view of the onboard processor no particular model is reported, it is only reported a SoC with eight-core CPU clocked at 1.8 or 2.2 GHz.
The Korean company would remain on “classic” values for RAM and internal storage (possibly a combination of 4 + 64 GB, with the possibility of expansion of physical memory via micro SD), while the battery would be well off by 3,700 mAh. This is a considerable capacity – many of you will remember the rumors that the future Samsung Galaxy Note 9 s will feature a “record” battery for the entire Galaxy range – in that case we talk about 3.800-4.000 mAh, very capacities close to the one reported by TENAA for the Samsung Galaxy S9 + Lite.
It is worth noting a major upgrade for the front camera (from the 8 MPs of the Samsung Galaxy S9 + to the 24 MPs of this Lite model), while on the back there will be two sensors with a resolution of 24 + 16 MP. Sensors that, among other things, as evidenced by images of the prototype shared by the Chinese body, would be placed on the top left, vertically, with LED flash placed lower and sensor for fingerprints in the center.
It will be very interesting to understand what will be the strategy of Samsung for this device – we will see Samsung Galaxy S9 + Lite in Europe or a possible exit will be reserved only for some Asian markets?
