Samsung Officially Announce A New Smart Watch, The Samsung Gear S2

Samsung have officially unveiled the Gear S2 after several months of teasing the smart watch, the Gear S2 was originally set to launch last two weeks with the Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus but for some reason it didn’t show up in the Samsung ‘unpacked’  event.

The all round Samsung Gear S2 is a Tizen-powered smartwatch. The pricing of this new exciting smart watch hasn’t been officially stated for now and release details weren’t mentioned.

Samsung hasn’t left us in the dark though and has revealed the the smartwatch will come in two variants – the regular Gear S2, and the Gear S2 Classic.

The Gear S2 classic  is specifically aimed at individuals who “prefer a more timeless watch design. The Gear S2 classic with comean elegant Black finish with a matching genuine leather band.”

Specifications of the Tizen powered Smartwatch include. a round, 1.2-inch circular display with a resolution of 360×360, 11.4 millimeters thin, a 1GHz dual-core processor and a 300 mAh battery, Samsung has promise 2-3 days of battery life.

Other specifications include NFC  for mobile payments, and Samsung also revealed  it is working with various partners to expand the utility of the smartwatch in new ways,  these various ways include smart car keys, residential room keys, and remote controls to manage a connected home.

For those who love to pop up a sim card on their Smartwatch a 3G version of the Gear S2 will also go on sale.

Samsung hasn’t revealed when the Smartwatch Will go on sale but they say that the regular Gear S2 version of the smartwatch will be available in either a dark gray case with dark gray band, or a silver case with a white band while the Gear S2 Classic will come in just one colour with a black case and black leather band.
