Teclast Tbook 16
In continuation of my tablet PC review, my next review is on the Teclast Tbook 16. This is a really nice device if I must say, coming with an uncommon 8GB RAM for a tablet.

With a powerful Intel processor and graphics processor, the Teclast Tbook 16 only falls short in the display. There have been complaint by some reviewers about the brightness of the screen – it isn’t bright enough. Besides this, the Tbook 16 is a great device all-round.
Design
The Teclast Tbook 16 tablet is solidly built with a sleek design. The bezels are obviously too large for the device. There’s a plastic/metal combination on the device frame – with the back being made of metal and every other part plastic.
You have the usual USB 2.0 port, 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB type C port, a micro-HDMI port, and also a DC input port. The volume rocker and power button can also be found on the sides of the device. At 10mm, the Tbook 16 is quite slim, and weighs just below 1kg.
Software
Users have the option of running either Windows 10 OS or Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the Tbook 16. There’s a downside to this however; unlike other tablets that feature a dual OS, with the Tbook 16,
- can’t switch between OSes at the click of a button. You need to restart the device each time you want to switch.
With the dual OS, users can run their favorite desktop applications via the Windows 10 OS or mobile apps through the Android mobile OS.
Hardware
Under the hood, you get an Intel Atom X7-Z8750 CPU clocked at 1.6GHz that can be overclocked to 2.56GHz.This CPU is said to be about 50% faster the Z8300. For graphics processing, there’s an 8th generation Intel HD 405 graphics processor.
If you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to tablet PCs with large memory, think again. The Teclast Tbook 16 comes with a huge 8GB RAM – where the average laptop may come with 4GB or 6GB RAM. This memory size should be more than enough for your application needs.
I personally think that Teclast should have done better with the storage size on the Tbook 16. Here, they used a 64GB eMMC storage. A SSD type storage with larger space should have been great – but then the price wouldn’t be the say. Anyways, you can expand the storage via a microSD of up to 128GB.
Display
There is a Full HD 11.6” IPS LCD display in the Teclast Tbook 16. The tablet has nice viewing angles and the display is bright enough for outdoor use. Color reproduction on this device is somewhat poor, but overall the device delivers a great visual experience. Aspect ratio on the Tbook display is 16:9.
Camera
For your photography needs, there’s the now usual 2MP/5MP front/back combination. The front camera should do for video chatting and the rear camera can capture decent photos.
Battery
With a batter capacity of 8,500mAh, the Teclast Tbook 16 offers a battery life of about five hours when running Windows and an extra hour on Android. The type C USB port allows for faster charging time so you don’t have to wait a long time for the battery to get filled.
