Uniscope P20 Review – Notch Display, Camera, Performance & Full Specs

China welcomes the release of the Uniscope P20 towards the end period of October 2018. A few aspects make this smartphone makes it special. Of course, Uniscope P20 has been called the military defense smartphone. Further, it comes with waterproof, shatterproof glass and other nice features. It also comes with a notch display.

Read on as we examine the complete scope of the Uniscope P20. We will look at the areas of design, display, camera, hardware, battery, and other features.

Design and Display of Uniscope P20

This Uniscope P20 body type is mainly polycarbonate. The dimensions and weight are not yet known. However, we know that the smartphone is water resistant, and it comes in black and orange colors. The display type is IPS capacitive touch screen of 16 million colours.

Screen size is 5.5 inches and pixels resolution is 640 x 1136. Pixel density is 255 ppi, screen to body ratio is 79 percent, and aspect ratio is 19:9. Protective features include multi-touch, scratch resistant, 2.5D curved glass screen. However, the device comes with no secondary display.

Camera Features

At the camera department there is a single 13 MP shooter that comes with LED flash. The video performance is put at 1080p@30fps with FHD recording.  Aperture is f/2.0 and other features include auto focus, continuous shooting, digital zoom, exposure compensation, face detection, panorama, HDR, geo-tagging, self-timer and other features.

The front camera, also known as selfie shooter is 8 MP and it comes without front flash attribute. However, its aperture is set at f/2.2.

Hardware and Software

Android 8.1 Oreo is the operating system on the Uniscope P20. That comes with a modified user interface. To support that, there are hardware components such as MediaTek MT6750T with process technology 28nm. Furthermore, there is the CPU Octa-core 1.5 GHz 8-Cores GPU is ARM Mali-T860 MP2 2-Cores. These work with 64-bit architecture.

Storage Capacity and Sensors in Uniscope P20

There are two variants to the Uniscope P20 smartphone. The internal memory is 3GB/4GB of RAM and that can’t be increased. However, the internal storage variant is put at 32GB/64GB which can be increased to 128GB through a microSD card. Sensors include fingerprint to the rear, accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, compass, and gyroscope.

Network and Connectivity

There are 2G, 3G, and 4G networks on the Uniscope P20. This means that the device is able to handle GSM, WCDMA, HSDPA, and LTE. To accomplish this there are two SIM slots provided for dual Nano SIM cards.

Other connectivity components include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C, HDMI, and others. However, there is no NFC or infrared in this device.

Battery Life

Powering the device is a 4000 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery that has fast charging technology. This means that you can fully charge your smartphone from zero to 100 percent within two hours. However, there is no wireless charging technology in the Uniscope P20.

Price and Availability

Pricing of Uniscope P20 is around $130 USD. There could also be differences in prices as it can differ from store to store. This mobile device was released in October 2018 without any fanfare and it will be available for purchase shortly from the manufacturer.
