Vivo just announced the Vivo X21 smartphone as an update to the Vivo X20 smartphone released last year. Going with the current trend, the X21 comes with the trending bezel-less top-notch display.
This is coming just hours after Oppo announced the Oppo R15, which looks quite identical to the Vivo X21. Apart from being bezel-less, the X21 packs 6GB of RAM, 128GB Storage and dual rear camera. Care to know more? Stay with me.

Design
These Chinese companies knows exactly what they are doing, the Vivo X21 looks exactly like the Oppo R15 from afar. However, the body was made from Aluminum Alloy and polished to perfection. The dual rear camera at the top left corner is in a vertical position with the dual-LED flash coming underneath, which is totally different from the R15.
Nonetheless, the rear fingerprint scanner and Vivo logo is at the usual position. When you turn over to the sides, it measures 7.4 mm in thickness, making it easy to hold and operate. Overall, it weighs just 156.2g and available in Aurora White, Ruby Red and Black colors only.
Display
This isn’t the first Vivo smartphone with the trending top-notch bezel-less display, they tried it first with the Vivo V9. But comparing the two, the top-notch on the Vivo X21 is now very minimal, even the bottom bezel was reduced drastically as well. Astonishingly, the screen on the X21 stretches up to 85.2% screen to body ratio which is really incredible.
But it’s not up to their Vivo Apex smartphone, which still has the world’s highest screen to body ratio. Displaying on the X21 is a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ capacitive touchscreen. With a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and 402 pixel per inch density, you will enjoy every second with this device.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip with an Octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-cores of processor reaches a maximum speed of 2.2GHz and has a 14nm process technology as well. Controlling graphics is the Qualcomm Adreno 512 graphics processor.
Just like its competitor, it ships with a massive 6GB RAM space and runs at 1866MHz in memory speed. In terms of storage, there are two versions, a standard one with 128GB storage. While the cheaper variant comes with 64GB, both of them are upgradeable up to 256GB. The Vivo X21 will give you the Oreo experience, the 8.1 version.
Camera
At the rear, there’s a dual 12MP + 5MP shooters with f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. The camera has 1.4 µm pixel size, dual-LED flash, depth of field and professional mode with other features to captute ultra clear images. For selfies, the 12MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture as well for cute selfies.
Battery
Powering the Vivo X21 is a 3200mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 1.7 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
