Vivo Z1 has just been launched as a high-end mid-range smartphone with impressive specs. The company reached a dead end with the V9 and it seems the Z series is a continuation of that. The Z1 sports the notched screen just like the V9.
The Z1 is part of the smartphones Vivo is launching for 2018 FIFA world cup this summer. Apart from its tall screen, there’s 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, an octa-core processor and an AI powered dual rear camera. Want to know more? Stay with me.
Design
Just like the V9, but only better. It comes with a Metal overall unibody that’s quite attractive to look at, thanks to the glass on top. The device reflects light beautifully in the most subtle way, there’s also a rear fingerprint scanner for quick access to the device.
The dual rear shooters are vertical at the top left corner with the LED flash coming underneath. It measures just 7.89mm in thickness and weighs 149g, making it a very light device. It was launched in Black, Red and Black colors only.
Display
Vivo is gradually mastering the notch and I think the company enjoys creating this bezel-less beauties with notch. However, the company is still finding it difficult to get rid of the bottom bezel completely, which notch houses the usual features.
The massive 6.26-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is perfect for tall and big screen lovers. It boasts of 2280 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 403 pixel per inch density, dishing out sharp visuals. The screen stretches to an impressive 84.5% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
The brain behind the Z1 is the Snapdragon 660 chip with Octa-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here runs at a blazing speed of 2.2GHz with 14nm process technology. The Adreno 512 graphics processor controls graphics.
Multitask through your heavy apps with the 4GB RAM space available, it has a memory speed of 1.8GHz as well. While for storage, 64GB space is ready to accommodate your files and apps. You can always upgrade the storage space up to 128GB. The Vivo Z1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch 4.0 OS skin on top.
Camera
The 13MP + 2MP rear camera has f/2.2 and f/2.4 aperture, respectively and comes with a few AI gimmicks. There’s a LED flash and other Internal features to bring out the very best of your photography skills. For selfies, the AI powered 13MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture for cute selfies.
Battery
Powering the Vivo Z1 is a 3260mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.7 hours.
