Design
A combination of Polycarbonate meets raw Metal here, thanks to the Polycarbonate body and IP68 certifications, you can take selfies underwater. The VKworld logo sits at the bottom corner, while the Metal foundation at the top houses the dual shooters and LED flash.
There’s no fingerprint scanner anywhere at the rear, it was ditched for the trending Face ID feature. Just like most rugged smartphones, it’s quite bulky, measuring 8.5mm in thickness and weighs 247g overall. Lots of attractive colors were used to make the Black body appealing, like Blue, Green and Orange.
Display
We have seen lots of rugged smartphones with bezel-less display, but the VKworld VK7000 obviously isn’t one of them. It comes with lots of bezels which protects the screen as well. Three navigation buttons are visible at the bottom bezel, while the top bezel houses the selfie camera, speaker grille and sensors.
The 5.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen might not be we quite appealing to big screen lovers. It has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 403.16 pixel per inch density, this means details on the screen would be clear enough. The screen stretches up to 63% screen to body ratio, while a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protects it all.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, the MediaTek MT6750T chip is in charge with octa-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor here runs at a standard speed of 1.5GHz with 28nm process technothelogy. The ARM Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processor comes with 2-Cores and clocks at 650MHz.
For multitasking, the device chips with 4GB of RAM, with a memory speed of 733MHz to assist as well. In the storage department, it’s 64GB strong and ready to accommodate all files and apps. Nonetheless, you can upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The VKworld VK7000 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with modified interface.
Camera
The rugged smartphone boasts of dual 16MP + 2MP shooters at the rear. These cameras has f/2.2 aperture and OmniVision CMOS Sensor, they will work together to prod amazing photographs. There’s an 8MP selfie camera at the top bezel, with an interpolated resolution of 13MP for all your selfie needs.
Battery
Powering the VKworld VK7000 is a 5600mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast and wireless charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
