Will OxygenOS and ColorOS become one? OnePlus responds

For some time now we have been aware of the collaboration between the two Chinese brands Oppo and OnePlus, which have decided to join forces by joining their research and development (R&D) departments. The news that was buzzing lately, however, concerned the software, because it is okay to unite the research departments on hardware but what will happen to the respective interfaces? Will those go to unify too?

In China there is no Oxygen and in its place the HydrogenOS is installed, a lighter version, closer to Android Stock and without pre-installed Google services. In addition to this, however, some OnePlus models were sold this year, always exclusively in China, with Oppo’s ColorOS on board and this had raised doubts about the future of interfaces.

Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, has decided to personally answer this question, on the OnePlus forum, reassuring everyone, the integration with OPPO will continue and will be deepened, but OnePlus will remain a brand in itself, with its channels, its events and its products. This should mean that, at least for now, interfaces and products outside of China should not converge towards one thing. We will see in the future.
