Xiaomi “listens” to users – new variant of the Mi 9 with 8 GB of RAM

Xiaomi Mi 9 presented an interesting series of variants during the launch, not only with RAM and storage combinations but also with phone versions.

The higher-end variant, which was called Mi 9 Transparent Edition, had all the strong performance characteristics of the other variants together with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space.

Despite this special version, some users complained that Xiaomi had failed to produce a version with a “halfway” amount of RAM, or 8 GB. Xiaomi seems to have paid attention to fan requests and seems ready to announce an 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory variant by the end of March.

The new version of the Mi 9 Transparent Edition, as mentioned, will have practically the same specifications as the previous ones. The phone will work with Android 9.0 Pie as the operating system, with MIUI 10 on top, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, paired with an Adreno 640 GPU and 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

According to the findings on the web, it seems that product director Xiaomi, Wang Teng Thomas, has confirmed the next 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage version in a response published on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo.

Another change in the Mi 9 Transparent Edition is that the main rear camera is a 48-megapixel sensor with a 7P lens with f/1.47 aperture, compared to the f/2.2 lens that we were able to “test” on the standard version of the Mi 9. The rest of the triple camera does not change- on the back, we always find a secondary 16-megapixel sensor with a combination of wide-angle lens and macro with f/2.2 lens and a field of view (FoV) of 117 degrees and a 12-megapixel tertiary sensor with an f/2.2 telephoto lens.

The cost of the new variant will be around 3,599 Yuan or about 475 euros.
