Xiaomi to release new Redmi Go with more storage

A few months ago, Xiaomi announced its first ever and most affordable Android Go device in India. Xiaomi has quite a reputation for its aggressive pricing and its phones which provide true value for money did take some time to hop onto the new Android format. However, back in February, the Redmi Go was released and it came with 8GB of storage and a price tag of Rs 4,499 coupled with some lucrative introductory offers. Now, Xiaomi is set to launch a 16 GB version of the Redmi Go. We do not have any particular date for the release of the device. However, since the announcement is official, there is a huge chance that the phone is coming soon.

An interesting fact though is that the teaser which the company shared on Twitter didn’t state 16 GB but, it is almost a given. Another curiosity, however, is whether the phone will come with extra storage in it. If the phone comes with extra storage, then it will definitely cost upwards of RS 5,000. If it does, then it will be in competition with other devices like the Realme C2 which comes with a price tag starting at RS 5,999.

The Redmi Go comes with a 5-inch HD display which has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The display has an aspect ratio of 16:9. Above the display is a 5-megapixel selfie camera while there is an 8 MP primary camera with a LED flash on the rear side. The Redmi Go is powered by a Snapdragon 425 chipset which is supported by the Adreno 308 GPU. In terms of memory, the phone comes with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The phone packs a 3000 mAh battery and it comes with a price tag of RS 4,499. The Redmi Go comes with the Android Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box.
