You can now edit depth and focus in portrait mode shots on Google Photos App for iOS

The new update to the Google Photos app for iOS adds the ability to adjust the depth and focus of portrait mode photos takes on your iOS device. This feature which has been available on the Android platform for sometime now is also available for some iOS devices which includes the newly released iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPad Pro. Older iPhone models apart from the ones listed here will have to turn to the Google photos app to be able to play with the depth as well as focus in portrait mode photos taken on their devices. To do this, you’ll have to update your Google photos app from the apple app store, launch the app and Click on a portrait mode photo. Now Click on the editing icon and click on it once again and use the sliders to edit it.

Also included in the update is a feature called ‘Color Pop’ which basically makes your photos ‘pop’ by simply turning the background to black and white while keeping the subject of the portrait mode picture saturated in colour. The Color pop feature was available before now but only on specific images which Google assistant deemed worthy to make it pop. However, you can now make every single picture your have on your phone pop by triggering it manually yourself, that’s is if you want. Are using an older model of iPhone ? And will you be making use of the new features in the Google photos app for iOS ? You can let us know by using the comment section down below.
