The Zoji Z9 has been introduced quietly by the company as the rugged beast appeared on the company’s website. HomTom’s sub-brand Zoji is famous for its rugged smartphones after the Z8 trended on shopping stores last year.

The new successor, Z9 has been launched with a stronger body as well. It has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space, while the Helio P23 takes charge underneath as well. Without further ado, lets meet the Zoji Z9.
Design
The Z9 sports a rugged material that protects everything Inside. The Polycarbonate and Metal combination will make it survive from falls as well. It boasts of IP68 certifications, offering dust and water resistant. The device has a glossy back that delivers nice reflection.
At the top middle, we can see the dual rear shooters and in a vertical position with the fingerprint scanner sitting underneath. The Z9 will be very bulky and a little heavy because of the massive battery underneath and its solid build. It will be available in Black and Orange colors.
Display
It’s nice seeing rugged smartphones coming with the trending full view screen or at least a taller screen. The Z8 was a disaster with lots of bezels being present at the front. While the Z9 offers you a more fuller screen even though the bezels are still visible.
The 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is really brilliant, it boasts of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution and 282 pixel per inch density. The screen stretches up to 74% screen-to-body ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
Hardware and Software
It’s powered by the Helio P23 chip from MediaTek which was built on a 16nm process technology. The octa-core processor here clocks at fast pace of 2.5GHz. While the ARM Mali-G71 MP2 graphics card clocks at 770MHz and comes with 2-Cores.
Multitasking of heavy apps shouldn’t be a problem at all, it has a massive 6GB of RAM. The RAM has a memory speed of 1.6GHz for smooth multitasking. While the storage space is pegged at 64GB and you can upgrade up to 256GB using a memory card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Camera
The Z9 is equipped with a crystal clear 21MP + 5MP rear camera, the 21MP shooter has f/2.0 aperture while the 5MP telephoto helps to focus and blur the background. While the 13MP selfie camera supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Zoji Z9 is a 5500mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.4 hours.
