ZTE Axon 7, LG G2, Redmi 3S / 3X and Redmi 4X get the official version of LineageOS 15.1

ZTE Axon 7 and LG G2 are two old devices launched respectively in 2016 and 2013. However, despite the advanced age, there are still those who still take care of them – these are the tireless developers of the now famous XDA forum, which they constantly update even the most “elderly” devices.

The same is happening both for ZTE Axon 7 and for all LG G2 variants, which are obtaining an official version of LineageOS 15.1. But that’s not all since even Xiaomi Redmi 3S / 3X (belonging to the low-end segment) and Xiaomi Redmi 4X are getting an official version of LineageOS 15.1.

The official builds of LineageOS are more important as they adhere to a particular level of quality that may not necessarily be present in an unofficial build. LineageOS 15.1 includes all the latest features included in Android Oreo, in addition to its own feature set. In addition to features such as picture-in-picture mode, notification channels, background app optimizations, snoozing of notifications, there are also all the specific features of LineageOS 15.1. Among the main ones, it is worth mentioning Privacy Guard and Live Display, as well as a whole series of warehouse applications.

With this new build, which minimizes the system, the user will immediately realize that the performance will be much better.

The Android Oreo beta, which can now be installed on ZTE Axon 7, was published when the fear that the company could actually close its doors after the ban imposed by the Trump administration was indeed very high. As many will remember, the US decided to severely punish ZTE by imposing the embargo after discovering that the company had sold American components to Iran and South Korea. The crisis then returned (but ZTE had to pay a very salty duty, ed) thanks also to the slightly softer approach of Donald Trump compared to the rest of the Congress.
