Amazon launches new Kindle Oasis in India; features adjustable color temperature

Back in 2016, Amazon released Kindle Oasis. This was the company’s premium e-book reader that comes with a dedicated page turn buttons. In 2018, the device received an upgrade and the second-generation Kindle Oasis was launched.

Now, Amazon has launched the third-generation Kindle Oasis in India and it features a 7-inch screen, adjustable color temperature for night reading, and much more. The device can be pre-ordered from Amazon India and will be available for direct purchase on August 19.

The third-generation Kindle Oasis comes with a 7-inch glare-free paperwhite screen with a pixel density of 300ppi. According to the company, the device uses the latest e-ink technology and also comes with 25 LEDs up front, which can be color adjusted.

The display colour tone can be switched from cool to warm to help during nighttime reading. This helps to prevent eye fatigue. While reading during the day, the tone can be set back to cool. A setting on the device allows it to switch automatically based on sunset and sunrise.

The Kindle Oasis measures 159 x 141 x 3.4-8.3 mm in terms of dimensions and it weighs 194 g. It also has two storage variants including 8GB and 32GB variants with free cloud storage for all Amazon content available to users. It also has other features like Wi-Fi 802.11n and an optional 4G and supports formats like Kindle Format 8 (AZW3), Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF and more.

The device is also IPX8 rated to protect against immersion in up to two meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes. It also allows users to adjust the text size and boldness and read with Kindle-exclusive fonts for maximum readability. As usual, the device lasts several weeks on a single charge.

The new Kindle Oasis comes with a price tag of Rs. 21,999 (~$316) for the 8GB Graphite version and Rs. 24,999 (~$359) for the 32GB WiFi Champagne Gold version. On the other hand, the 32GB WiFi + 4G Graphite version can be purchased for Rs. 28,999 (~$416).
