Apple releases WatchOS 5.1.1 with bug fixes

Last week we had reported that Watch OS 5.1 which Apple had released along with a host of other updates to its service had been pulled down as a result of the bricking the update caused the Apple watches. However, we are happy to announce that Apple has released a new update in WatchOS 5.1.1 mainly as a response to the many problems that users had encountered with its predecessor, the WatchOS 5.1 which had subsequently led to the company pulling the plug on the update.

The new update comes with a host of other fixes which include bug fixes for the Walkie-Talkie app and issue which had made the Activity rewards app not to be displayed.

The preceding version of the watchOS 5.1.1 which is the WatchOS 5.1 had initially been released alongside the iOS10.1 but reports ranging from the Apple Watch failing to upload to a host of other things after the installation of the software update had led to the company withdrawing the update.

Apple made an official confirmation regarding the complaints saying that the update had affected a small number of users and that “any customers impacted should contact AppleCare but no action is required if the update installed successfully”

The new watchOS 5.1.1 comes with all the initial features that had accompanied the WatchOS 5.1 and even brand newer features. Some of the features include Group Facetime audio calls, new emoji along with a range of new face watch options.

The latest Watch OS 5.1.1 address several vulnerabilities which previously allowed attacks to gain kernel-level privileges to the devices, it addresses this with the new security patch and updates that accompany the new update,

The iOS 10.1 was also said to have come with a flaw that lets attackers bypass lock screen via Siri and access contact list.
