The Asus X555LA might just be the best budget laptop ever. The perfect all-round value laptop for work and play, according to Asus, the X555LA presents a better balance in overall performance which no other laptop in this price range has.

DESIGN AND BUILD

The Asus X555LA-XX290H comes in a dual-tone finish. It features a very dark back with beautiful circular patterns. It weighs just 2.1 kg and 26 mm thick.

On the left side of the Asus X555LA we have two USB 3.0 ports, gigabit ethernet, and VGA analogue and HDMI digital video output and on the right we have one USB 2.0 and a card slot able to accept SDXC cards,  headphones and microphone jack also make an appearance.

The Asus X555LA-XX290H’s features a silver-coloured finish and a decently large buttonless multi-touch type 103 x 73 mm for easy cursor control, Asus are also kind enough to include smart gestures on this laptop.

A low resolution display at 1366 x 768 pixels across the 15.6in panel graces this budget laptop and we won’t complain because of its price.

PERFORMANCE

This laptop comes in two variants of processors depending on which you buy, Asus offers the X555LA with AMD or Intel processors clocked at 1.9 GHz Core i3 from Intel’s 4th generation. With 4GB of memory and 1 TB hard disk and 37 Wh battery you can get 5 to 6 hours of battery life.
