BLUBOO S8 Lite Review – Cheap Smartphone With Dual Rear Camera

BLUBOO S8 Lite is officially the trimmed down version of BLUBOO S8. They have similar specs in areas like design, size and even battery life. However, there are some notable downgrades in this version. These downgrades aren’t that bad but they present an opportunity for those interested in the marquee BLUBOO S8 yet have little purchasing power, to take up the BLUBOO S8 Lite as a preferred alternative. Yes, that’s what you thought; it comes at a very cheap price. Let’s dissect the BLUBOO S8 Lite together, shall we?

In no manner whatsoever is the BLUBOO S8 Lite different from the BLUBOO S8 in the design category. Just like BLUBOO S8 has a shiny rear outlook and a bezel less frontal, BLUBOO S8 Lite has the same features. A dual camera setup appears at the rear together with the fingerprint sensor, dual LED flash and BLUBOO logo. Its dimensions are 149.5 x 70.6 x 8.4 mm with a weight of 207 g. Also possessing a metal body material, the smartphone has only three colour variance – Blue, Black and Gold.

Its display has 5.7 inches size with HD display and 2.5D Curved Glass. In this segment, its resolution reads 1280 x 720 pixels unlike the 1440 x 720 pixels found in the BLUBOO S8. The pixel density also gets a reduction to 258 ppi. Its screen-too-body ratio is placed at 83%.

The only sector here where this version doesn’t defer from the full version is the software. The smartphone runs on the Android v7.0 Nougat OS. The system-on-chip present on the device is the MediaTek MT6580A (which is used mostly by budget smartphones). The CPU powering the device is a Quad core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 that makes use of the 28nm process technology. Mind you, it is a 32-bit processor type. The production of graphics on this smartphone is the sole duty of the ARM Mali-T400 MP2 with two cores. The memory part got the axe big time. The RAM stoops lowly to 1GB for the sake of multi-tasking. The sacrifice to be paid is that minimal apps will be present on the smartphone to avoid lagging. The ROM also gets cut to 16GB although it can still be extended to a maximum 256GB.

The dual camera setup at the smartphone’s rear has an 8MP shooter and a 3MP sub shooter. There is a dual LED flash for brightening images in low light conditions. The front camera is still the 8MP shooter present in the BLUBOO S8. 2G, 3G and 4G LTE network types sum up the cellular connectivity on the smartphone.

The smartphone has a non-removable Lithium Polymer 3,450mAh battery. This battery gives a talk time of 35.4 hours.
