BlackBerry Motion Specs Review, Price and Where to buy

Ever since Blackberry decided to take the bold step and switch the leading OS, Android, the smartphone brand has released quite a handful of devices, and they were good enough. I’m talking about devices like the BlackBerry Hamburg (DTEK50), BlackBerry DTEK 60, BlackBerry KeyOne, and BlackBerry Aurora. Now the was-almost-dead-and-buried smartphone brand with yet another Android device, the BlackBerry Motion.

Let’s have a peek at the highlight specifications.

BlackBerry Motion

The BlackBerry Motion is that one BlackBerry device with the best design so far. The device has a metal body and comes with pioneering features that other BlackBerry Android-powered smartphones lacked. The BlackBerry Motion comes with an IP67 certification which makes it the first waterproof smartphone from BlackBerry.

The device has a nice rectangular body shape with all the hard keys on the right side of the device, while the USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone and speaker grill are all at the bottom. Lovely arrangement and placement I must say. The home button doubles as the fingerprint scanner and the BlackBerry log is nicely embedded in it (the home button).

The BlackBerry Motion comes with an In-Plan Switching Full HD display that is sized at 5.5 inches. The device has a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.

The BlackBerry Motion comes with support for only one SIM card and runs on the Android v7.1.1 Nougat operating system. Albeit the Nougat OS is already known for sleek multitasking, the device now packs additional 4 GB of RAM to further ensure smooth handling and running of multiple applications without data loss or lag during usage.

The BlackBerry Motion uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 System-on-chip and runs an Octa-core Cortex-A53 processor which clocks a speed up to 2.0 GHz. For multimedia and documents storage, there is an inherent 32 GB of storage space which can be expanded to 256GB using an external TF/SD card. The primary camera of the BlackBerry Motion is a 12 megapixels sensor and it comes in the company of a LED flash. The secondary camera on the front comes with a display flash and is an 8 megapixels sensor.

The BlackBerry Motion comes with a huge 4,000 mAh battery capacity. The non-removable Lithium Polymer battery comes with a remarkable Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Fast Charging Technology.

The BlackBerry Motion was announced in October and it comes with a price tag of $490 (approx. NGN 177,000)
