The Coolpad Roar 5 has officially been launched in Indonesia, the device comes with 16GB internal storage space. This is the latest installation to the Roar series from Coolpad, the Roar 5 is the most advanced version.
Unlike previous Road smartphones targeting those on a budget, none have been able to pass the 8GB storage capacity. It looks like Coolpad ain’t here to play this year, the new Roar 5 comes with 8MP rear camera and 2500mAh battery as well. Want to know more about the Coolpad Roar 5? Well, lets dig in.
Design
The body is totally an upgrade from what the company is typically known for. It comes with the dual antenna line, one at the top and the other at the bottom. The body is a combination of plastic meets metal, the device is beautiful and stunning no doubt.
The rear camera comes just after the top antenna line, with the LED flash underneath. The Coolpad inscription is at the bottom and that sums up the features at the back, with no fingerprint scanner in sight. Moving to the sides, the power button is by the right, while the volume keys at the left, as it measures 8.1mm slim. Its available in only Gold and Black at the moment.
Display
It has extremely narrow bezels, and take a look! A Coolpad smartphone with no navigation buttons at the bottom bezel. But i still don’t know why the bezels are still there, the top bezel houses the selfie camera, ambient light sensor and speaker grille.
The 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. For clarity and sharp visuals, the screen boasts of a 294 pixel per inch density. Furthermore, the multi-touch screen stretched up 68.8% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 chipset with Quad-core processor. Disappointingly, the processor reaches a maximum speed of 1.1 GHz, with a 64-bit CPU architecture and 28nm process technology. In the graphics department, the Adreno 304 from Qualcomm is also in charge reaching a maximum speed of 400MHz.
For light multitasking, there’s a 1GB of RAM which boasts of a memory speed of 533 MHz. The highlight of the device is a massive 16GB internal storage, which the company saya is upgradeable up to 64GB using the SIM 2 slot. The Roar 5 runs smoothly on Android 7.1 Nougat with modified user interface.
Camera
The 8MP rear camera with f/2.4 aperture on the Roar 5 captures 3K resolution images. A LED flash is underneath the camera for taking photos in low light areas, images can boast up to 3264 x 2448 pixels. Take cute selfies with the 5MP selfie camera and record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second.
Battery
Powering the Coolpad Roar 5 up is a 2500mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology support. With the fast charging feature, it might take more than 2 hours to fully charge the device.
