How to Get Free Movie Rentals and Other Rewards from Your Chromecast or Google Home
Google has done a great job making a name for itself in the hardware industry and I am not talking about Pixel phones here— I am talking about Google’s Chromecast and the Google Home. Both devices are useful, affordable and are among the best in their different categories.
As if that weren’t enough, you can also get free schwag from Google just by owning one (or multiple) of these products. Here is how you can find free movie rentals and many other sweet deals just for owning a Google Home, Chromecast or Android TV.
Google rotates out different sets of offers from time to time, so if you own a Google Home or Chromecast, you should check at least once in a while. Sometimes, these offers aren’t very special, like a discount on Hulu for new subscribers (which you can probably get somewhere else). But there are a few special ones, like the occasional discounts or free movie rental on smart home products. To discover the deals available to you at any given time, you will need the Google Home app for iOS or Android.
How to Get Free Movie Rentals and Other Rewards from Your Chromecast or Google Home
To discover offers available for you, first make sure that your Android or iOS device is connected to Wi-Fi and also, any Chromecast or Google Home devices you have been turned on. Also, make sure that they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android or iOS device. Once that is set, go to the Google Home app on your phone and tap on the menu button in the top left corner of the screen.
In the menu that slides out, tap on “Offers.”
The Home app will quickly search your network for any applicable devices and see if there are any offers available for you. Different devices may have different offers, so if you have a Google Home, a Chromecast, a SHIELD TV or anything else that uses Google Cast, make sure that the devices are all connected to see your offers.
There are certain offers for simple things like a free month of YouTube Red or Google Play Music, both of which are quite common. But for an instance here, I have an offer for 20% off a TP-Link Smart Bulb. I have also had things like deep discounts for Google Home Mini in the past.
Google along with its partners release new freebies every month or so. Some of these offers have conditions attached to them, so you may not be able to use every single one you find, but it is still worth checking every once in a while. Whether some stuff is free or discounted, it is nothing to sneeze at.
