The Nokia 7 Plus has a striking resemblance to the Google Pixel 2 XL in size, shape, and rounded corners. Like I said in the introduction, the Nokia 7 Plus and Google Pixel 2 XL have similar design especially at the front display. They both come in a front glass with an aluminum body. While the Nokia 7 Plus has copper designed around the edges, the rear camera, and fingerprint sensor. They almost measure the same thickness, with the Google Pixel 2 XL coming at 7.9 mm thick. While the Nokia 7 Plus measures 8mm in thickness. The Google Pixel 2 XL is lighter at 175 grams to the Nokia 7 Plus (183 grams).

The Pixel 2 XL is resistant to water/dust with an IP67 rating. While the Nokia 7 Plus doesn’t have any rating and should be kept away from water. They both have their fingerprint sensor mounted at the back. The Pixel 2 XL features a rear camera at the top left. While the Nokia 7 Plus features a dual rear camera at the top middle just above its fingerprint sensor. Both phones kept it simple in body color, the Pixel 2 XL is available in Just Black and a combination of Black with White. While the Nokia 7 Plus is available in White and Black body colors.

The display screen says a lot about the class of both smartphones. The Google Pixel 2 XL features a 6.0-inch P-OLED touchscreen. While the Nokia 7 Plus comes with a 6.0 inch IPS LCD touchscreen. Their display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass; version 5 for Pixel 2 XL and version 3 for Nokia 7 Plus. They both have an 18:9 aspect ratio, with 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution and 538 PPI density for the Pixel 2 XL. While the Nokia 7 Plus has a display resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels with 403 PPI density.

On the Nokia 7 Plus is a rear camera with 12MP f/1.8 aperture primary shooter and 13MP f/2.4 aperture secondary shooter. The rear camera’s features are gyro EIS, dual pixel phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, Zeiss optics and dual-LED dual-tone flash. With the Zeiss optics also featured in its front 16MP f/2.0 shooter.

The Nokia 7 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip, which carries 4-cores at speed of 2.2GHz and 4-cores at speed of 1.8GHz. While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip powers the Google Pixel 2 XL and carries 4-cores at speed of 2.35GHz and 4-cores at speed of 1.9GHz. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset has better RAM speed and CPU threads than the Snapdragon 835 chipset. While the Snapdragon 835 chipset has a better download and total clock speed than the Snapdragon 660 chipset.

They both run on pure Android operating software. The Nokia 7 Plus runs on Android 8.1 Oreo while Google Pixel 2 XL runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. The two device comes in a 4GB memory with 64GB internal storage. While the Pixel 2 XL has another 128GB internal storage variant.
