HMD starts rolling out Android 9.0 Pie to Nokia 6.1 devices

The Nokia 6.1 which ships with Android 8.0 is now getting a piece of Pie as promised by HMD. The update as you would already know brings a few changes to the system navigation, settings menu, and notification as well as other Android Pie goodies. The Full changes of the Android 9 Pie (v3.260) are as listed below.

  • New System navigation, settings menu, and notification.
  • Adaptive Power Prioritisation.
  • Adaptive and optimized brightness level.
  • Predictive Applications Actions.
  • New Camera, v9.0 with new UI, Google Lens and Google Motion Integration

The Android 9 Pie carries a file size of about 1.5GB so you might want to make some space in your storage before you download the update. If you haven’t gotten the update notification yet, you can manually check for the system update by going to your Settings >> System >> Check for updates. If you still don’t get the update after checking Manually then the update probably hasn’t reached your country yet.

Now that the Nokia 6.1 has gotten its share of the Pie, next in line should be the Plus Version which should be rolling out anytime soon. When it does, we’ll be here to let you know.
