Honor Magic 2 Switches Software From EMUI to Magic UI 2.0

Honor Magic 2 which features a slider similar to the one on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and an impressive screen to body ratio is somewhat carving out a name for itself. For those of who don’t already know, Honor is a sub brand of Huawei and as such, comes with Huawei’s EMUI skin on Android. Well, this has changed, thanks to the introduction of the Magic UI 2.0, a next generation AI-powered system which will now be the official skin for Honor devices from here on out. The first device to receive this update is the Honor Magic 2 with the version number 9.0.0.128 (C00E129R1P18).

Surprisingly, the update is only 214MB in size and is rolling out to devices worldwide so if you haven’t seen the update yet then you might need to manually check by going Settings >> System >> About Phone and check for it. If you still don’t get the update prompt then the update hasn’t reached your device yet. You might want to keep an eye out for the update as it should be coming soon.

The update as you would have already guessed changes the whole User Interface of the device, giving it a distinct look from Huawei’s EMUI with new icons packs, wallpapers, fonts and the rest in what Honor calls “a new magical journey with Magic UI 2.0’s stylish interface, AI capabilities, and evolving YoYo smart assistant”. The update also comes with the latest November google security patches.
