Well, if you happen to fall into that category, then there is a good news and also a bad news. The good news is that you can reset the password on iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr, the bad news is that you’ll lose all the files on your phone in the process. If you have a recent Backup of your device, then this shouldn’t be a problem. There are three methods to reset the password on iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr and all of them will wipe your device clean to make that possible.

How To Reset Password On iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr Using iCloud

The first method involves using iCloud. iCloud will enable erase/wipe everything on your device. To wipe your iPhone using iCloud, simply follow the steps below.

– First things first, Make sure the locked iPhone is connected to the internet to receive the commands when carried out.

– Now, Visit the iCloud/Find Website [https://www.icloud.com/find] with any internet enabled device.

– You’ll be asked to log in to your Apple account using your Apple ID and Password. Do that and Log In. Make sure it the same apple account you were using on the locked iPhone.

– Navigate to the All Devices Option at the top of the screen, Select a device you would like to erase and click on Erase.

– The process will take a couple of minutes, and when it is done, you’ll be presented with two options – Setup as new or restore from backup. If you have a backup, then restore the backup, if not, Setup as New.

How To Reset Password On iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr Using iTunes

For this method, you’ll be needing a PC with iTunes Installed on and a lightning cable to connect your iPhone device to the PC. Once all that is set, you can now go ahead and follow the steps below.

– Connect the iPhone to your PC via USB.

– Launch your iTunes on your PC and Enter the passcode if asked to Begin syncing your device. This should take a couple of minutes. After that, it Should start the backup process. Once that is done, Tap on Restore.

– Once the Setup Screen shows up your iPhone, Tap on Restore from iTunes Backup, Choose your device and Select the most recent Backup.

How To Reset Password On iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr Using Recovery Mode

If any of the above two methods didn’t work for your or you don’t want to use those two methods, you can try the recovery mode option. Just follow the steps below.

– Connect your iPhone to a PC via USB.

– Launch iTunes and Force restart your iPhone. (You can do this by pressing and Holding the sleep/wake button till the apple icon comes up. Keep holding until it gets to the Recovery mode Screen)

– You’ll be presented with two options – Restore or Update

– Select Update and iTunes will update or rather, install a new iOS version on to your iPhone without touching the files on it.

– Once the Install/Update is complete, you should be able to use your phone again.
