There have been a couple of cases where Apple Watch’s heart rate feature has recognized an irregular heart rate. This feature has helped saved lives and now, Apple is teaming up with Stanford for an official Heart Rythm study using the Apple Watch. Data is collected in the duration of this study and is then used to detect and track heart issues like atrial fibrillation. You too can join the study. You just need to own a compatible Apple Watch and install the app on it.
This study can be done on Apple Watches including Apple Watch Series 1 and above. Watch Series 0 is not supported.
