Huawei Honor 9i Specifications, Review and Highlights
Display
Honor 9i joins the bandwagon of smartphones that have taken up the 18:9 aspect ratio offering a sharp 5.9-inch Full HD+ display(2160*1080). The smartphone almost goes bezel-less and the screen-to-body ratio stands at 83%.
Design
The device sports a premium matte finish as it goes full metal in Black, Blue and Gold hues. Its curved edges and tiny bezels mean its easier to hold in the palm and at 7.5mm thick and 164g it remains comfortable in your hand, although it could protrude slightly from your pocket. It sports a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and its vertical dual rear cameras on top of it protrude a bit
Running on 4GB of RAM is an octa-core Kirin 659 SoC which makes its first appearance on the Huawei Honor 9i. The chipset is tasked at ensuring a lag-free experience which it does brilliantly. It packs 64GB of ROM which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD, swapping it in place of a second SIM.
Camera
This would serve as the highlight for many as the device houses four cameras, a 16MP plus 2MP camera setup on the rear and a 13MP selfie camera paired with a 2MP shooter others. There’s enough space for a rear LED flash and a Soft selfie flash at the front.
Battery & Connectivity
The Honor 9i comes a non-removable 3340mAh battery which returns up to a day’s power on average use. Connectivity options include; Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, FM Radio, rear mounted fingerprint sensor, Hybrid Dual SIM slots.
Software
The smartphone runs on Huawei’s custom EMUI 5.1 out of the box based on Android’s Nougat 7.0 Operating System. I do trust it offers a very comfortable user experience.
