The Huawei Honor 9N was seen in an unboxing video in India ahead of its official launch date. The Honor 9N is a rebranded Honor 9i with identical specs and features that is “coming soon”.

The device comes with the GPU Turbo tech, 4GB of RAM, dual rear cameras and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. It’s also powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset from Huawei. Without further ado, lets meet the Honor 9N.
Design
The 9N looks exactly like the 9i with no major difference in terms of design. It has an aluminium alloy overall unibody which reflects light in the most subtle way. There’s a rear fingerprint scanner at the usual position.
While the dual rear shooters at the top left corner sitting in a horizontal position while the LED flash is right beside it. When you turn over to the sides, it measures 7.7mm in thickness and weighs 152g overall. It’s available in Black, Blue, Green and Purple colors.
Display
As expected, the Honor 9N comes with the notched screen. The notch is also super minimal just like on the 9i, it houses just the selfie camera and speaker grille. While the bottom chin houses another Honor logo.
You’ll be greeted with a tall 5.84-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. This is quite brilliant, thanks to its 2280 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 432 pixel per inch density. It stretches up to 79% screen-to-body ratio with GFF full lamination.
Hardware and Software
The HiSilicon Kirin 659 sits behind the screen here, the mid-range chip is produced in a modern 16nm FinFET process and has a 8-cores of processor. This reaches a fast speed of 2.36GHz, while the ARM Mali-T830 MP2 brings Turbo tech.
There’s a standard 4GB RAM space available to handle all your multitasking needs. While there are two variants in terms of storage, there’s one with 64GB and another with 128GB. The Honor 9N runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with EMUI 8.0 on top.
Camera
For photography, the dual 13MP + 2MP rear shooters does the job. The 13MP shooter has f/2.2 aperture while the 2MP acts as the depth sensor. There’s a LED flash and other Internal features on the camera. The 16MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture, CMOS BSI Sensor and supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Huawei Honor 9N is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.8 hours.
