Huawei Mate X is a foldable smartphone from the stable of Huawei. So the company announced last month, giving us specifications to help us comprehend the value that the phone offers to users. This phone is not a waterproof device. It does not have wireless charging but it is going to sell for over two thousand dollars.

The Huawei foldable device is not yet released but it is expected to land in the tail end of quarter 2, 2019. In this review, we will examine some good aspects as well as bad ones (there are many) about the device.

Design and Display

We cannot tell for now if the phone will arrive in metal frame and glass or in plastic. The dimensions will be different when it is folded to when it is unfolded and the weight specification is 295 grams. It comes in only blue color. There is triple primary rear camera setup of 40 MP, 16 MP, and another 8 MP that comes with LED flash. Additionally, at front the selfie camera is not clear yet. Video performance for the camera department also varies.

Camera features in the phone are as follows- Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto focus, manual mode, EIS, smart TOF camera, HDR, and others.

Hardware & Software

Further, Huawei Mate X also sports Android OS v9.0 Pie as the operating system. It works on EMUI 0.1 user interface. Also, it comes with Hisilicon Kirin 980 chipset. Moreover, the CPU is Octa-core 2 x 2.6 GHz Cortex A76 (2ce), and the GPU is Mali G76 MP10.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

Furthermore, Huawei Mate X is entitled to three variants 8GB of RAM that cannot be expanded. Card slot can enable increase up to 256GB with a microSD card but the internal storage capacity is 512GB. There are nine sensors in the phone and they are accelerometer, proximity, compass, barometer, light, fingerprint, face recognition, infrared, and hall effect.

Network and Connectivity

The Huawei Mate X is supported by GSM, HSPA and LTE, (optional single SIM) so it is having 2G, 3G, 4G for internet connectivity and other uses. This makes the device a 4G compliant mobile device that has dual hybrid and nano SIM card slot.

Expectedly, network supports of the device are Bluetooth v5.0, infrared, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, NFC, headphone jack and USB v3.1 Type C 1.0 reversible connector. Evidently, there is no HDMI in the device.

Battery Life of Huawei Mate X

The battery of the phone is a good one at a Li-Po 4500 mAh non-removable that has no wireless charging but there is fast charging technology. Talk time and standby time are not specified herein.

Lastly, Huawei Mate X official price is $2,614 USD. However, it may be possible to get the best price of the device in your home country below or simply buy it securely internationally on the smartphone market when the smartphone is available for purchase, which is very soon.
