Karbonn K9 Smart Plus is a 4G mobile phone that some have described as a mid-range mobile smartphone. However, we really don’t believe that it is a mid-range mobile phone when we consider the specs and compare these with the price.
Released in the month of October 2018, it appears that this device is a runner up to the Karbonn K9 Smart which was released sometime in 2016.

Design and Display of Karbonn K9 Smart Plus
Body design of this smartphone is a combination of metal and plastic. Dimensions are 148.6 x 71.5 x 8.8 mm and it weighs 163 grams. It comes in blue, gold, and red colors. This is not a water resistant smartphone; it does not come with fingerprints and face recognition technology.
Display type is IPS LCD capacitive multi-touch screen. Display colors are up to 16 million colors. The screen size is 5.45 inches but there is no secondary display in the device. Pixel density is 295 ppi, pixels resolution is 1440 x 720, and aspect ratio is 18:9. Meanwhile, the screen to body ratio is 72.4 percent. A salient feature of the smartphone is Dragontrail glass.
Camera Features
There is a single 5 MP camera at the rear, which comes in 1.4-micron pixel size. This lens has dual LED flash. However, the front selfie camera which is also 5 MP has no flash attributes. The video performance is 720p@30fps.
Camera features are geotagging, auto focus, HDR, touch focus, face detection, and panorama.
Hardware and Software
At the software department is an Android OS v8.1 Oreo Go Edition without Java support. The CPU that powers the Kyocera Duraforce Pro 2 is 1.4 GHz Quad-core. However, both the chipset and GPU have not been specified.
Storage Capacity and Sensors
Internal memory outlay is 1GB of RAM that cannot be increased. But the internal storage is 8GB and can be increased up to 32GB through the use of a microSD card.
Sensors in the Karbonn K9 Smart Plus are accelerometer, proximity, and light.
Karbonn K9 Smart Plus Network and Connectivity
The device is able to handle 2G, 3G, and 4G internet connection. This means that it has support for GSM, HSPA, and LTE. To make these work, there is a provision for dual Nano SIM slot inbuilt in the device.
Other network connectivity components are Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, headphone jack, and micro USB 2.0. However, there is no infrared, NFC or HDMI in this device.
Battery Life
Powering the Karbonn K9 Smart Plus is a 2800 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that has no wireless charging or fast charging technology. The talk time is up to six hours and the standby time is up to 300 hours.
Price and Availability
Karbonn K9 Smart Plus sells for $49 USD. We can’t assure you that this is the best price you will find online. The official price of the smartphone is not specified yet. The mobile phone has been released in the month of October 2018 and is on sale.
