Lenovo Announces ThinkReality A3 Smart Glasses

Get the work done. That is the motto for Lenovo, and the company wants that for all who buy its newly announced smart glasses. The new AR glasses were announced at the latest CES. Amazingly, they work with PCs or select Motorola smartphone through the use of a USB-C connection.

The smart glasses run on Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 and it comes with stereoscopic 180p displays. These Lenovo smart glasses will be available for buyers by the middle of 2021. No price information is available yet but it appears that the price will be reasonable.

The device comes with two different types of cameras. They possess dual-fish eye cameras for room-scale tracking. It also has an 8 MP RGB camera that allows the users to share 1080 video.

It is possible for users to see up to five virtual displays. These, according to Lenovo, are intended for people to be more productive but it also increases the opportunity to maintain privacy. Each of the five displays can be used to run Windows tools and apps. The glasses are also good for immersing people into content that they love, like for example architecture or other large-scale projects.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad laptops and mobile workstations can optimize the virtual monitors displayed by the smart glasses. Users can also tether the ThinkReality A3 smart glasses to work in various places such as factories, laboratories, retail environments, and even in hospitality spaces. Motorola smartphones can bring the best out of these smart glasses.

The kind of Motorola smartphones that are the best are those that run Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processors or those that have DisplayPort capability. It is important that these smartphones are the first consideration when trying to connect the smart glasses to another device. However, Lenovo didn’t announce specifically the PC requirements for using the AR smart glasses.
