LG K8 (2024) Announced Ahead Of Mobile World Congress 2024; Check Out Specs

As the smartphone world is bracing up for the largest mobile show in the world, LG has announced the 2018 versions LG K8 and LG K10 ahead of the Mobile Congress that’s to hold in Barcelona. The first thing to take note about the LG K8 (2018) smartphone, the topic of the day is that it is an entry-level smartphone. In other words, it’s a smartphone that comes with specs that aren’t fit for flagship but decent, and as such a pocket-friendly price. The smartphones were announced as the successors to the LG K8 2017 and LG K10 2017. Let’s get to know more about the LG K8 (2018) as we proceed.

Design & Display

The smartphone’s body build is crafted out in plastic with a weight of 152 g including the battery. The smartphone sports a fingerprint sensor at the rear and a single camera as well as a LED flash support. The LG logo is also seen at the rear. The dedicated keys on the smartphone arrives the traditional volume keys and power button. The dimensions of the smartphone are 5.76 in length x 2.88 in width x 0.32 in thickness. The top bezel of the smartphone houses the front camera and the earpiece as well as the ambient light sensor. The color options of the smartphone are Moroccan Blue, Aurora Black and Terra Gold.

The smartphone has a 5.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which uses a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 294 PPI. The display also has the In-Cell touch and 64% screen-to-body ratio. The display colours of the smartphone is 16 million colors.

The smartphone’s camera unit has an 8 megapixel shooter at the rear. The camera shoots bright images in low light conditions as a result of the LED flash support. Features such as HDR, panorama, Phase detection auto focus (PDAF), Gesture shot, Quick Share and geo tagging are present in the camera unit. The front camera on the other hand makes use of a 5 MP sensor to take selfies. A LED flash is also supported.

CPU, OS & Storage

A MediaTek chipset enclosing a Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU is the powerhouse of the smartphone. This 64-bit CPU makes use of the 28 nm process technology and clocks at 1.3 GHz speed. LG K8 (2018)’s graphic is handled by ARM Mali GPU. The OS running on the smartphone is the Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS that’s upgradeable to Android Oreo OS. The RAM has a 2 GB size that takes control of the smartphone’s multitasking. The internal storage has a 16 GB capacity that stores files and can be expanded to 32 GB with the use of a MicroSD card.


The smartphone is powered by a removable Li-Ion 2,500 mAh battery.
